Our Mission

Business leaders who play golf with each other, predominately males, are a fraternity that needs to be joined in order to move up the corporate ladder.

But for many women the challenge of figuring out where to start, conquering the intimidation that comes with learning the sport, and finding welcoming events and communities to tap into keeps them away from golf altogether.

We created Out of Office Orlando to give women a space that celebrates the connections that can be made through golf and to prepare them with the tools they need to walk onto any golf course with confidence.

We'll bring the Central Florida community together on February 18th and 19th to tee it up and bridge the gap while driving change for local charities.

Why Golf?

There’s a positive correlation between being able to say “yes” to an invitation to play golf and growing your career or business.

Professionals who play golf benefit from:

  • Networking opportunities

  • Access to exclusive circles

  • Corporate visibility

  • Displaying/observing competencies and character

  • Relationship building through shared experiences

Despite being 55% of the labor force, women make up just 28% of golfers in the U.S.

You’ve heard about the gender pay gap — but there’s another gap that’s nearly as important, though much less discussed: The Network Gap

  • 73% of business executives say that playing golf has helped their careers. 93% of sales executives said the same.

  • 26% of people surveyed in the tech industry said that their decision not to play golf had hurt them professionally…citing they “missed out on networking and relationship building.”

  • A weaker network means less access to job opportunities...85% of jobs are filled through networking.

    Yahoo Finance

  • Recent research shows that our professional and personal networks have shrunk by close to 16% during the pandemic.

    Harvard Business Review

  • Couple all of this with the fact that less than 2% of female founders ever hit $1 Million in Revenue

Our Founders

We’re ready to change the statistics.

We created Out of Office Orlando to give women on the rise a space that celebrates the connections that can be made through golf and to prepare them with the tools they need to walk onto any golf course with confidence.

  • CEO and Founder, KJ Transactions

After a decade in senior management and more than five years at the helm as Founder and CEO of a Real Estate contract processing company, I picked up a golf club for the first time in 2020. I couldn’t believe how quickly I fell in love with chasing a little white ball around a golf course. As an athlete at heart, golf feeds my competitive spirit and has helped me build priceless personal and professional relationships along the way.

Being able to hold my own on the golf course opened doors to invitations to corporate and charity tournaments over the years, but it didn't take long for me to notice what was missing from so many of the golf courses I visited, women!

I founded Out of Office Orlando as a way to create welcoming and memorable opportunities for women to kickstart their own journeys with golf, take advantage of the connections that can be made on the golf course, and give back.

  • Founder and CEO, Birdhaus Agency and Creative Studio

I was introduced to golf at 10 years old right here in Orlando through the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association, one of the country's oldest inner-city youth golf programs. I experienced the power golf can have on transforming communities and the trajectory of people's lives. It’s why I’ve dedicated my career to reimagining golf’s approach to welcoming more diversity to the game.

For the past 15 years, I’ve helped organizations including the LPGA and Youth on Course bring more women and young people to golf through brand development, storytelling, event activations, and influencer campaigns. My dream is for the faces I see walking down the fairway of a golf course to resemble those I see walking through the aisles of my grocery store.

I’ve witnessed Kim’s passion for golf grow since she first picked up a club and I’m honored to help bring Out of Office to life. I can’t wait to help more women discover their own love for the game.
